Job Summary
Under general supervision, carries out the Combat Cancer: Prevention and Screening program for the statewide contract. Assures that program work plan is carried out and completed, maintaining compliancy with all aspects of the contract with Iowa HHS. Assures representation and integration within local health, education, and community systems.
Job Duties
PROGRAM COORDINATION: Provides program planning and implementation within area of expertise/assignment. Designs programmatic systems and work plans, implements and carries out work plans within program area. Works with internal and external partners and subcontractors. Coordinates work, evaluates work, reports work product outcomes. Evaluates program plans in conjunction with grant applications and local needs and expectations. Writes reports in designated formats and within requested deadlines. Works with other programs and community partners as needed to assure that program priorities are integrated into organizational priorities and community systems. Provides technical assistance as needed to community and partner programs.
BUDGET: Carries out program budget as it applies to approved work plan. Stays within approved program budget and required timelines. Assures that program expenditures are reasonable and necessary to carry out the program. Works with Public Health Director when necessary to gather required documentation for reimbursement claims.
REPORTS: Completes and submits all program reports as required with funding organization.
EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS: Is assigned a role in public health/emergency preparedness. NIMS Compliance required. Trains and exercises as requested. Heeds advice regarding personal preparedness to assure availability during an actual event. In case of event, will be assigned response role within scope of just in time training. Follows the guidance of the emergency plan and the Incident Command System in emergency response.
Attends local, regional and statewide meetings relating to program area as needed.
Job Qualifications
- Ability to lead and communicate clearly and accurately with professionalism and confidence, while maintaining a public servant attitude.
- Experience in a community-based programming/grant work is preferred
- Must have excellent computer skills and be competent with a variety of Windows-based software packages, including the Microsoft suite of software.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
- NIMS Compliance within 6 months (will provide)
- Basic/Advanced Epi (will provide)
- Child/Dependent Adult Abuse Training within 6 months (will provide)
- Driver’s License
- Reliable vehicle, insurance compliant with county requirements
