Job Summary
Administers and maintains the County’s 911 sign program, including the installation of new address signs and posts, and the repair or replacement of existing signs to ensure clear identification for emergency response and public safety.
Job Duties
• Installs and maintains address markers and street name signs throughout Marion County, producing, repairing, or replacing signs as needed.
• Inspects residential markers and street signs for damage or loss and initiates replacement or repair promptly.
• Places utility locate requests and operates sign installation equipment, including trucks, hydraulic post drivers, and various hand and power tools.
• Maintains accurate electronic records of all sign-related activities, including installation, maintenance, and service logs.
• Documents daily work activities, equipment usage, and maintenance operations in compliance with department procedures.
• Performs daily equipment inspections and ensures vehicles and tools are in safe and proper working condition.
• Adheres to all county and department safety policies and attends safety meetings and training sessions as required.
• Ensures signage is accurately placed as locations.
• Provides recommendations for new equipment specifications and operational improvements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
High school education or G.E.D. and seven to twelve months of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
