Ready to Vote in 2026
Step one: get registered! It’s fast, simple, and the best way to ensure you are VOTER READY.
Option 1: Online (Quickest)
Head to sos.iowa.gov and click “Am I registered to vote?”. Just enter your name and zip code to check your status.
If you aren't registered yet, click “Register to Vote” and have these ready:
- Full name and Date of Birth.
- Last 5 digits of your Social Security Number.
- Iowa DL or ID card number, plus the first five digits of the number at the bottom of your license.

Follow the prompts, review your info, and you're done! The Marion County Auditor will mail your voter information card (which lists your polling location) within two weeks.
Option 2: Paper or In-Person
- Print & Mail: Download the form online and mail it to: Marion County Auditor, 214 E Main St, Knoxville, IA 50138.
- In-Person: Visit our office to fill out a form or call us to have one mailed to you.
Important Deadlines
The pre-registration deadline is 15 days before the election. While Iowa offers same-day registration, getting it done now saves you time at the polls.
