General Election
A General Election is an election in which all or most members of a given political body are up for election. The term is usually used to refer to elections held for a nation's primary legislative body, as distinguished from by-elections and local elections. General Elections are held the 1st Tuesday after the 1st Monday in November of each even-numbered year.

- County Candidates – Marion County Auditor is filing officer
- First day Auditor can receive Absentee Ballot Requests:
- Tuesday August 25, 2026
- First day to Absentee Vote at Marion County Auditor's Office 214 E Main St Knoxville, IA
- Wednesday, October 14, 2026
- Office Hours: M-F - 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
- Please note ID required to participate.
- First day the Auditor's Office can mail absentee ballots to voters who have submitted requests.
